"Where I live well, there is my country"
"Pluto", Aristophanes, 1151, 388BC
Dedicated to those who have lost the right to have their
own identity; to illegal immigrants who, persecuted or expelled from their
own country have lost all rights to membership of any ethnic or national
group. This is the title and content of the V edition of the Portello
River Festival. More than 120 artist coming from many country will join
us in our programme, a very important contributions to know each others
throughout movies, concerts, talks, reading etc...
The themes that will
be developed in the V edition of the festival draw their inspiration from
the architectonic features of Portello: the river, the wall, the City
Gate and the bridge.
The River, as a metaphor
for travel and adventure.
The Wall, a physical and political constraint, a symbol of separation-exclusion
throughout human history.
The Gate, which we hope will always be open to new knowledge and cultural
exchange.
The Bridge, a sign of union and of civil society.
Next year the VI Edition
of the Portello River Festival will celebrate “Istanbul 2010 European
